Prior to forming ISP, I spent over 21 years as an industrial real estate broker and adviser. For the last 20 of those years I was with NAI Hiffman, one of the largest and most trusted commercial real estate service firms in the Midwest. While there, I represented owners and tenants of all ranges of industrial property, including some of the nation's most prominent developers of large warehouses, distribution centers and business parks. During these years of learning the markets, players and property types, I developed a strong preference for working with tenants and owners of industrial service facilities, and when I started investing, this became my preferred asset class to invest in. I purchased my first industrial outdoor storage facility in 2003, and had accumulated 25 such facilities by the time I retired from brokerage in July of 2020. Now with investing as my full time focus, I am able to buy at an even faster rate, am able to respond to submittals quickly, and am not limited in size of project to avoid potential brokerage client conflicts.

My wife Nancy and I live in the western suburbs of Chicago where we raised 4 children. Together we enjoy boating in the summer, skiing in the winter, and traveling often.
